The Work
Construction cases are hard, and that is the point. A single matter can turn on a soil report, a subcontract indemnity clause, a payment application from three years ago, and the testimony of the person who actually swung the hammer. To succeed, attorneys must understand the engineering, architecture, construction, and the law at the same time.
Our clients come to us because they paid someone that betrayed them, or because a project they are responsible for is at risk. Either way, the outcome shows up in someone’s balance sheet, their business, or the place they live. We take that responsibility seriously. We build trust with our clients in many ways, but usually by also working on a contingency fee basis, meaning the firm does not get paid unless we win.
If you want a practice where the quality of your work is viewed more favorably than simply billing hours, this is it.
Why Johnson Law
You will own your work.
We are a small firm, so there is nowhere to hide and no layer of people between you and the case. New attorneys take depositions. Paralegals perform work that helps decide cases. You will be trusted early and supported while you earn it.
We litigate.
We prepare every case as if it is going to trial or arbitration, because some of them do. If you want the experience of trying cases, you will get it here.
We invest in the people who stay.
For every attorney that walks in the door, there is a path to partnership. For paralegals, legal assistants, and other support staff, we offer generous leave policies, pay above market, and discretionary bonuses.
For everyone, we provide you with the freedom and flexibility to do your best work.
